Professor Luke Charles Harris — the Co-founder of the African American Policy Forum — and his colleagues in the political science Department will convene a conversation on Book Bans and Critical Race Theory scheduled to take place in Rocky 200 from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3rd.
This conversation addresses efforts like Governor Ron DeSantis banning the teaching of CRT in Florida public schools and the widespread banning of books in the US and what this means for a multiracial democracy. The event is part of the Freedom to Learn National Day of Action which is a concerted pushback against the banning of books.
